readings per learner every week, on average across our partner schools

20 h

of one-to-one listening a week for a class of 30, done by Lexi

Improved means at least one of decoding accuracy, fluency or reading comprehension increased. Listening time is an illustration: 30 learners × 13.7 readings × about 3 minutes, not measured teacher time saved.

How a week with Lexi works

Teach. Lexi assesses. Teach again.

The same simple cycle every week, with the marking taken off your teachers' plates.

  1. 1

    Choose the sounds

Pick up to four phonics a week. Every passage your learners read is built around them.

  2. 2

    Learners read to Lexi

At home or in class. Lexi listens to every word and helps the moment they get stuck.

  3. 3

    See what to teach next

Top words read incorrectly, speed bump sentences and thinking skills, per learner and per class.

  4. 4

    Print the lesson

One tap builds a teaching pack from this week's readings, ready for next week.

Questions

What schools usually ask us

Will this add work for my teachers?

No. Lexi does the listening and the marking. Teachers open the dashboard when it suits them, and the teaching pack prints in one tap.

What does it cost?

Your first month is a free pilot. After that it is R270 per learner per term, or R900 per learner for the year, with discounts from 50 learners.

Do learners need their own device?

They read on any phone or tablet with the Lexi app, at home or at school. Classroom Mode lets a class read on school devices by scanning a QR code.

Does it match what we teach?

Yes. Lexi is CAPS and IEB aligned for Grades 1 to 4, and every passage follows the phonics focus you choose for the week.

Is it built for South African schools?

Lexi is proudly South African: made here, for South African classrooms, with stories and names your learners know.
